Best Test Prep... Ever
I don't rave about books, especially test prep books. They always seem to be filled with mistakes, and their effect on my scores sometimes can be minimal. Anyway, I had to find a second SAT II to take, and decided on US History becasue I had taken a class way back in tenth grade, from which I remembered, I soon learned, almost nothing.
But with this book and about 3 months of some rather diligent studying, I got an 800 (after getting a 680 on my first US History practice test.) I can't sing the praises of the layout and content of this book enough. The numbers don't lie. I bet anyone could get a 750 just by reading the book through 3 or 4 times. (One minor quibble- it can go into a little too much detail, for instance listing a full page's worth of FDR's alphabet agencies, which were a pain to memorize and didn't show up on the test.) Your college application can't afford not to have great scores (well, mine can't.) And that's reason enough to get this book, ASAP.
