Reviews:

Inadequate
This book is pretty unorganized. Chapters are divided decently but within the chapters, the contents are unorganized. It gives you some information and then some problems and then some information then some problems in disorderly manner. It gives you most of the information you need but doesn't cover much of the various types of question that are on the test.

To do well on the SAT subject test Mathmatics, you need certain skills and experience in those certain types of problems that appear on the test. This book is more like a precalculus review than a test prep for SAT mathmatics.

Two practice tests on the back are pretty good but a little harder than the actual test. Because the contents of the book doesn't cover much of the types of problems, you would feel new to the problems on the practice tests when you take them.

I recommend Kaplan's for review and practice and this book for just the two practice tests on the book. If you're going to buy just one book you'll get the most out of buying Kaplan's.

For more information about few other books, see my review for Kaplan SAT mathmatics level 2.

By the way I got an 800 on level 2 so I believe my opinion is valid.
pretty good
a decent review book. the practice exams are a bit harder than the actual questions, but they're good practice. i prefer the sparknotes version over this one, but this is definitely the 2nd best choice. You want to do both the IC and IIC practice exams becausse they're good practice. i got a 800.
Helpful, but more practice could be included
This was the only book I used for the December 3rd (2005), Math I SAT Subject test. Although this book his not perfect, here is a little back story to illustrate its usefulness.
I had registered to take both Math Subject tests. Right before I was about to take the Math II, I checked with the supervisor in the room that I was able to take BOTH Math tests in one sitting. She told me no (which is FALSE, but I didn't know at that time). The whole room was waiting on me to choose which test to take so in a split second decision I went with the Math I-I recalled everyone telling me how easy it was. That seems logical, except for the fact that for some reason I did a LOT better on the Math II material (I took AP Calculus and AP Statistics in High School, so Algebra and Geometry seemed so old to me). Whatever the reason, I only took the Math I that day. For the next two weeks until I got my scores (today), I was in panic mode thinking I would be thankful if I even got a 600 because I skipped 10 out of 50 (!!!!), and had no idea how many I got wrong. I am happy to report that I turned out with a 670-So even though this book could have more practice material, it must have something going for it I got this (slightly) above average score given the stressful conditions. Overall I am pleased with this book-the flash cards really help!
(Sorry for the long story...)
Good prep but not very good
This book is very easy to read but the explanations could be more detailed, exercises and practice tests could be more.
Could have been more detailed
This book is very well organized but there is a problem with how topics are covered. There most be a lot more detail on some of the topics. However it is easy to follow ( especially without a tutor ).
