This study guide is full of typographical errors and factual inaccuracies. If you are taking the Praxis I, I recommend Arco's study guide. I found it to be closer to the actual test. If you are looking for a guide to any of the other Praxis tests, especially Elementary Education, don't get this one... keep looking.

Another reviewer of this book advised the reader to use the products produced by Teaching Solutions. "Teaching Solutions is very good too at www.praxis-test-coaching.com." I did. Don't. The content material wasn't even readable...the definitions didn't make sense, the spelling was wrong, and I just went through the first couple of pages.

Here are two examples from the Business Education document they emailed to me.

1. Note the incorrect word usage of UNDERSTANDS in this definition: "The primary benefit of for profit corporations is that it offers its shareholders with a right to take part in the profits without any personal legal responsibility because the company understands the entire liability of the organization."

2. This one needs no explanation: "Deflation is the synonymous to inflation could be defined as decrease in price level of goods and services that result in increased purchasing power of money. Deflation is not always good for an economy of a country because it decline in the general level of prices in the economy"

I'm in the process of trying to get a refund...but so far, they are not answering my emails.

The book covered a lot of information. I know the Praxis content is broad. The practice questions were good. I don't know how someone could read the entire book during test preparation though. Teaching Solutions is very good too at www.praxis-test-coaching.com You can pass by applying the principles of both programs or software/ coaching. It's a must to follow the instructions of author.

I took the Elementary Content Knowledge Praxis (0014) and used this book as a study guide. There is only one practice test in this book, but it is good prep for this exam. The format is very similar to the actual exam. If you study the content of the practice test, you should do fine on the real exam (in other words, the questions are not the same, but the subject is very similar.)

After trying to franctically prepare for the praxis, I found this study guide especially helpful. This study guide is a must buy! Try to include the offical study guides and tests from ETS and you should be fine. What you should never purchase are any of the CDs from a praxis company called "teaching solutions." Talk about getting had! Watch out for these internet companies! Stick to the best and you'll do the best.
